As a Coach, I am always looking for books that will not only help me be a better coach, but that I am confident about recommending. I have to say that one of the best books I have read this year is called Playing Big by Tara Mohr (click here to view the book). This book is full of practical wisdom to help women step into their capacity to lead, create and use their voice.
What I loved so much about this book was that Tara writes in a way that comes from her heart. It is her calling to help women connect to their inner wisdom and find the courage to speak up and step into their calling.
You may want to keep a journal close by as you read this book – there are so many practical tips on how to:
• work with your inner critic,
• communicate in ways that do not diminish your message,
• connect to the voice of your inner wisdom,
• stop hiding,
• live into your calling,
• find the courage to take a leap toward your deep longings
The chapter in this book that I have gone back to over and over again is about a new way to look at fear. This chapter has been a game changer for me and I believe it can be for you as well. Fear is often a stumbling block for many of us and this chapter gives a new, but ancient, way to look at fear – one that helps us lean in and listen more closely because the fear may actually be guiding us to a path that energizes and enlivens us.
Tara has been a coach for many years and she has combined the wisdom she has garnered from helping women step into their capacity to lead into this gem of a book. I believe that every woman should read this book, as well as the men who love them. In reading it, you will discover ways to stay true to your inner voice and to step toward the dream that wants to come alive through you. We have our dreams for a reason, they are given to us so we can be of service in the world. Someone out there needs what you have to offer. The wisdom in this book will help you find the courage to take a leap and start playing bigger so that the people who need you can find you.
This book will help you let your light shine.
